## In short

World Aid Network does not rank the best charities to donate to. Check the Charity Commission and CharityCompare for filings. If our mandate matches, donate here. About £200 funds one complete cataract operation in Pakistan, Indonesia or Malaysia. Gift Aid starts when Charity Commission registration is granted.

We do not rank charities. If our mandate matches what you want, please donate on this page.

## At a glance

- No ranking: We do not publish a scored list of other charities
- ~£200: Typical partner cost for one complete cataract operation
- 3 countries: Pakistan, Indonesia and Malaysia — our charitable Objects
- 5290505: Charity Commission application — no registered number yet

## What are the best charities to donate to?

There is no honest single ranking. The best charities to donate to are the ones whose objects, countries and evidence match what you want the gift to do. World Aid Network does not publish a league table. If you want a gift that funds cataract surgery, cancer treatment or emergency food, water and shelter in Pakistan, Indonesia and Malaysia, please donate on this page.

People type “best charities to donate to” when they want a shortcut. Lists ranked by brand size, advertising spend or last year’s income are not that shortcut. A large charity can be the right gift. A small one can be the right gift. The test is the mandate, the accounts, and whether you can see what a pound buys.

Do you publish a ranked list of charities? is the honest answer to the league-table search. How do I check a UK charity is legitimate? is where to start on the register. If our Objects match, stay and give. If they do not, give where they do.

This URL also answers “best charities to donate to 2026” and “best nonprofits to donate to”. Those older addresses 301 here. The tests have not changed because the calendar changed.

- We do not rank other charities. We do not rank ourselves as number one.
- Start with the Charity Commission register: https://www.gov.uk/find-charity-information
- Filing transparency: CharityCompare. Clarity Scores come from official filings, not impact.
- If the mandate matches, donate here. About £200 funds one complete cataract operation.

## Do you publish a ranked list of charities?

No. World Aid Network does not publish a scored list of the best charities to donate to, the best nonprofits to donate to, or top rated nonprofits. We will not invent a top ten. Please use the Charity Commission register and CharityCompare, then donate here if our mandate is the one you want.

A ranking that we wrote would be an advertisement. Is World Aid Network one of the best charities to donate to? is the section that refuses that advert. CharityCompare exists so you can read filings without our score. WAN has no registered charity number yet (Charity Commission application 5290505), so it will not appear as a fully rated CharityCompare profile until registration is granted.

If you searched “top rated nonprofits”, that phrase often means a US star rating. World Aid Network is a UK CIO, not a US 501(c)(3). Gifts on this site are generally not US tax-deductible. Donate from the USA is explained on the give-from-the-USA page if that is your question.

## How do I check a UK charity is legitimate?

Search the Charity Commission register at https://www.gov.uk/find-charity-information. Look for a registered number, named trustees and filed accounts. World Aid Network is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation. Registration is in progress (application 5290505). We will not invent a number. Please donate if you still want this mandate.

A registered charity must display its number. We will display ours when it is issued. Until then the live legal position is on the registration status page. ICO reference ZC156579. Gift Aid is not claimable yet.

Scottish charities sit on OSCR. Northern Ireland has its own register. This page is written for England and Wales searches. For filing comparisons on charities that already have a number, check CharityCompare.

## What tests should I apply before I donate?

Ask four things. What are the objects? Which countries? Who delivers the work? What does a typical gift buy? World Aid Network’s answers are medical care and emergency relief; Pakistan, Indonesia and Malaysia; local partners; about £200 for one cataract operation. Please donate if those answers are the ones you wanted.

Objects: we fund sight-restoring eye surgery and cancer treatment for poor patients, and food, water and shelter after disaster. We do not run UK hospitals. We do not fund research. We do not rebuild houses. We do not send cash to individuals.

Delivery: locally licensed clinicians (PMDC, KKI, MMC) and vetted local relief partners. We do not fly in visiting surgical teams as the standard model. How grants move is on how we work.

Price: typical partner costs, not a menu for a named patient. We do not invent caseloads. We do not claim a 100% donation policy. The 100% donation policy guide is the overhead myth, not this page.

- Objects — Eye surgery and cancer treatment for poor patients; emergency food, water and shelter
- Countries — Pakistan, Indonesia and Malaysia only
- Who operates — Local PMDC, KKI or MMC clinicians; local relief partners
- Typical cataract gift — About £200 for one complete operation
- Ranking of others — None. Use the register and CharityCompare
- Registration — CIO; application 5290505 in progress

## How is CharityCompare different from a best-charities list?

CharityCompare is a free UK directory. Clarity Scores are built from official filings. They are not an impact ranking and not a faith ranking. World Aid Network points you there so you can read accounts without our score. Please donate here if you already know the mandate you want.

A “best charities to donate to” list that we wrote would mix advertising with advice. CharityCompare does not ask us to rank our neighbours. Use it for charities that already have a registered number. Come back here if a hospital-bill or relief-kit gift in three countries is what you want to fund.

## Is World Aid Network one of the best charities to donate to?

We will not say yes. We will not say we are number one. We will say what we do, where we work, and what a gift typically buys. Please compare that with the tests above. If the match is good, donate on this page.

World Aid Network is secular — not a Muslim charity and not a Christian charity. Charity for humanity is that identity page. We do not run a named-child scheme. The children’s charity donation page is that gift. We are a cataract charity and an eye charity only in the sense that we fund partner-hospital eye surgery — Cataract charity UK is the explainer.

Please give if you want that work funded. Please give somewhere else if you wanted a different object, a different country, or a ranked table we refuse to write.

## What will a donation to World Aid Network provide?

Your donation pays partner hospitals and local relief partners. About £200 can cover one complete cataract operation. £50 is a typical partner-quoted chemotherapy session. Disaster gifts buy food, water and shelter. Figures are typical partner costs, not a menu you pick for a named patient.

Please choose an amount and donate. Cancer gifts fund all types of cancer — not research and not NHS care. Use the Cancer Emergency Appeal if cancer is the whole of the ask. Eye surgery gifts typically fund cataract operations — Gift of Sight. Emergency gifts do not rebuild houses. Partners typically start within 48 to 72 hours. The Indonesia Emergency Appeal is the standing earthquake and tsunami page.

We do not send cash to individuals. We do not claim a 100% donation policy.

## How is this different from the year-round donate page?

This page answers “best charities to donate to” and lets you donate. The year-round donate page is the checkout for people who already decided to give. Both can take a card gift. This URL is not listed on the emergency appeals index.

Search engines treat “best charities to donate to” and “donate to charity” as different questions. We keep them on different URLs. Stay here if you are still choosing. Use the year-round donate page if you only wanted a form. Named appeals sit on Gift of Sight, the Cancer Emergency Appeal, and the Indonesia Emergency Appeal.

## Should I donate to a big charity or a small one?

Size is not a test on its own. A large charity can be the right gift for a global object. A smaller CIO can be the right gift for a narrow object. Please donate here if three countries, partner hospitals and typical £200 cataract costs are what you want. Please give to a larger agency if you wanted their mandate.

World Aid Network is smaller than household-name agencies. That is a fact, not a score. We do not fly our own surgical teams. We do not run a global brand. If you searched for those agencies by name, go to them.

Focused objects make it easier to see what a pound buys. They do not make us “the best”. The tests still apply: register, filings, countries, delivery.

## Do the best charities send 100% of donations overseas?

No honest UK charity should treat a 100% donation policy as the only test. World Aid Network does not claim one. Gifts fund programme costs at partner hospitals and local partners. Read how we work. The 100% donation policy guide is the longer overhead answer.

Overhead ratio is a poor measure of whether a gift helped someone see, finish chemotherapy, or drink clean water. Please donate if you want those outcomes funded. Please do not choose a charity only because an advert said 100%.

## Will Gift Aid apply if I donate here?

Gift Aid starts when Charity Commission registration is granted (application 5290505). You can donate now. We will contact donors when that happens. We will not tick a Gift Aid box that we cannot yet claim.

When registration is granted, a UK taxpayer’s eligible gift can add 25 pence in the pound at no extra cost to the donor. That is not live on this site today. The Gift Aid page is the status explainer.

## Where does my donation go if I give here?

Gifts pay partner hospitals and vetted local relief partners in Pakistan, Indonesia and Malaysia against trustee-approved lists. We do not send cash to individuals. Charity Commission registration is in progress. Please donate so that chain can start.

A restricted eye-surgery gift stays with eye care. A cancer gift stays with cancer treatment. A disaster gift stays with food, water, hygiene kits and shelter. Unrestricted gifts can go where trustees see the most urgent list. ICO ZC156579.

## How can I donate from the UK after reading this guide?

Please donate on this page by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay if World Aid Network’s mandate matches. From the United Kingdom, that is the simplest way to fund an operation, a chemotherapy session or emergency kits overseas. You are not paying for NHS lists.

You do not need to travel. You do not need to send parcels. If your workplace, school, mosque or church is collecting, bring the money here. Seasonal giving can use the Christmas Appeal. Children’s charity donation searches have their own page.

## Can I give monthly to a charity I have chosen?

Yes. A monthly donation means the next patient or the next disaster kit is not left waiting for a one-off drive. Please set up a regular gift on this page, or use the monthly giving page. You can change it later.

If you would rather give once, that gift is welcome too. Please donate today if the tests on this page matched what you wanted a “best charity” to be.

## What will a donation provide?

- £10: Clean drinking water for a displaced family for one week
- £25: A Digital Shoebox Medical Kit, bought nearby by local partners
- £50: A typical partner-quoted chemotherapy session
- £100: Temporary shelter materials for one displaced household
- £200: One complete cataract operation at a partner hospital
- £500: Cancer surgery where partners quote this cost, or a larger relief package

## How to choose the best charities to donate to, then give

We do not rank charities. Check the register and filings, then donate to World Aid Network if the mandate matches.

- Refuse a fake ranking: This page does not publish a top ten. CharityCompare is for filings. The Charity Commission register is for legitimacy.
- Match the mandate: Our Objects are eye surgery and cancer treatment for poor patients, and food, water and shelter after disaster, in three countries.
- Give an amount: About £200 funds one complete cataract operation. A smaller gift still helps.
- Optional: another URL: Year-round donate page if you only wanted a form. Gift of Sight or the Cancer Emergency Appeal for a named checkout.
