See how it works. # How World Aid Network Delivers Aid We fund sight-restoring eye surgery, cancer treatment and emergency disaster relief through locally-licensed surgeons and trusted partner organisations in Pakistan, Indonesia and Malaysia โ€” with no overseas teams and no own clinics. Every pound goes directly to patient care or disaster relief, verified against named patient lists. Quick answer World Aid Network funds treatment rather than delivering it: partner hospitals identify patients who cannot afford care, trustees approve a named patient list, and funds are paid directly to the hospital โ€” never as cash to individuals. A complete cataract operation costs approximately ยฃ200\. All clinicians are nationally registered (PMDC in Pakistan, KKI in Indonesia, MMC in Malaysia). ## Why does the local-partner model work? Sending overseas volunteers is expensive, slow, and can displace local expertise. Our model is different: we identify, vet and fund professionals already doing the work in-country, cutting delivery costs and ensuring sustainable capacity. ๐Ÿฅ ### Partner hospitals Accredited hospitals with nationally-registered clinical teams. We fund specific patient lists โ€” not open budgets. ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ ### Licensed surgeons Ophthalmologists and oncologists registered with PMDC (Pakistan), KKI (Indonesia) or MMC (Malaysia) โ€” the local equivalent of GMC registration. ๐Ÿค ### Relief organisations Established local humanitarian organisations with verified logistics, prior operational records, and community trust in disaster-affected areas. ## What are our three programmes? ### Eye surgery โ€” sight restoration We fund cataract operations, glaucoma treatment and other sight-restoring procedures for patients who cannot afford care. A single cataract operation costs approximately ยฃ200 all-in and restores sight permanently. Partner surgeons are PMDC/KKI/MMC-registered ophthalmologists working in established eye hospitals. Funding is approved against a named patient list with clinical justification, and we receive post-treatment outcome reports. [See cancer programme โ†’](/cancer) ### Emergency disaster relief When earthquakes, floods or other disasters strike Pakistan, Indonesia or Malaysia, we activate pre-vetted local partners who can reach affected families within 72 hours. Relief covers emergency food, clean water, temporary shelter and seasonal support. Funds enter World Aid Network's restricted bank account held under Charity Commission rules. 2. 2 Trustees review & approve disbursement The board of trustees reviews partner requests against patient lists or relief reports and approves disbursements on a quarterly basis (emergency funds can be fast-tracked within 48 hours). 3. 3 Funds transferred to partner Approved funds are transferred by bank transfer to the partner organisation, with a funding agreement specifying patient outcomes, reporting obligations and permitted use. 4. 4 Partner delivers care or relief The partner hospital or relief organisation delivers the funded care or aid, under their own professional and regulatory obligations. 5. 5 Post-delivery reporting Partners provide post-treatment reports (for clinical programmes) or distribution evidence (for relief). These are held by the trustees and available to the Charity Commission. ## Frequently asked questions Does World Aid Network run its own clinics or overseas teams? No. We do not operate our own clinics, hospitals, or overseas field teams. We fund and partner with locally-licensed hospitals, surgeons, and humanitarian organisations in Pakistan, Indonesia and Malaysia who carry out the work on the ground. Who performs the eye surgery and cancer treatment? All clinical care is delivered by locally-licensed professionals: ophthalmologists registered with PMDC (Pakistan), KKI (Indonesia) or MMC (Malaysia), and oncologists at accredited partner hospitals. This is the local equivalent of GMC registration in the UK. How does World Aid Network select its partner organisations? Partners must hold active national medical council registration, demonstrate verifiable patient records, and provide pre- and post-treatment reporting. Emergency relief partners must show prior operational track record in the affected region. How quickly can my donation reach someone in need? For emergency relief, pre-positioned partners can begin distributions within 72 hours of a disaster. For eye surgery and cancer treatment, patients on partner waiting lists can receive funded treatment within days of approval. How is my donation protected? World Aid Network is a UK Charitable Incorporated Organisation (charity registration in progress), governed by named trustees.
