# Public corrections log

Dated fixes to facts, registration wording and editorial claims. Last reviewed 2026-08-10.

Quick answer

World Aid Network logs material corrections publicly with dates. Report errors to info@worldaidnetwork.org. We correct registration wording, unit costs, clinical claims and broken sources; typos that do not change meaning may be fixed silently. The editorial policy explains what triggers a logged fix.

## How corrections are handled

When we make a mistake in programme facts, unit costs, governance status or clinical summaries, we correct it and record material changes here. We do not quietly rewrite history on registration or Gift Aid eligibility.

## How to report an inaccuracy

Email [info@worldaidnetwork.org](mailto:info@worldaidnetwork.org) with the URL and what you believe is wrong. We aim to acknowledge within five working days. See also the [editorial policy](/editorial-policy).

### Indonesia Emergency Appeal caseload correction
Removed unsourced figures on /appeal/indonesia-emergency that described an 8 April 2026 magnitude 7.4 earthquake displacing over two million people and destroying 120,000 homes. The USGS event is 1 April 2026 22:48 UTC (2 April local), Mw 7.4 (event us6000slss). BBC reported one death in Manado. Antara reported 1,966 people displaced on Batang Dua (6 April 2026). USGS PAGER exposure of about 2.1 million people to moderate shaking is not a displacement count. The page is now a standing Indonesia tsunami and earthquake appeal with sourced historical context.

### Charity lottery thresholds, age and harm figures
Corrected /charity-lottery. Small society lottery limits are £20,000 proceeds per lottery and £250,000 in a calendar year, with a £25,000 maximum prize (Gambling Commission) — not “annual proceeds under £20,000 and a single draw under £2,000”. Society lottery tickets must not be sold to or by under-16s; the National Lottery is 18+ (the page had stated 18+ as the legal floor for charity lotteries). Gambling-harm stats now cite GSGB 2024 (2.7% of adults 18+ PGSI 8+) and the OHID 2023 suicide range (117–496 in England), replacing unsourced 1-in-25, 1.4 million and 409-as-a-hard-count figures. Card donations are open now; the old “give once registration allows” line was wrong.

### Will guide probate fee, emergency-aid claims and water 80% figure
Corrected /blog/making-a-will-legacy-giving-uk-guide: the England and Wales probate application fee is £526 from 13 July 2026 for estates over £5,000 (HMCTS) — not the old £273 (2024/25) figure. Gift Aid does not apply to a gift in a will; the how-to no longer implies a lifetime Gift Aid top-up on a testamentary gift. On /blog/emergency-aid, removed “every pound goes directly to the family” / “not a single penny diverted to salaries” wording (we do not claim a 100% donation policy). On /clean-water-charity, replaced an unsourced “80% of illness after a shock” line with Sphere’s 15 litres per person per day and WHO emergency-water guidance.
