What is the Malaysia Floods Appeal?
The Malaysia Floods Appeal is World Aid Network’s standing emergency relief page for Malaysia. Please donate for food, clean water, hygiene kits and temporary shelter for families displaced by flooding. Local partner organisations deliver the help. We do not rebuild homes or send cash from this appeal.
Every monsoon, rivers on Malaysia’s east coast rise. Families leave home with what they can carry and wait in temporary relief centres until the water drops. They need to eat, drink safely and stay dry. That is what this appeal pays for.
You do not need to travel or pack a box. The most useful thing you can do is donate money, so help can be bought close to where it is needed.
When is flood season in Malaysia?
Malaysia’s Northeast Monsoon brings heavy rain spells to the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia, western Sarawak and the north-east coast of Sabah. MetMalaysia gives November, December and January as the months of maximum rainfall for the east coast states. That is when flooding is most likely.

Please do not wait for the pictures. A gift made before the rains peak means partners are not starting from zero when families are already in relief centres.
How many people do monsoon floods displace in Malaysia?
In late November 2025 the ASEAN AHA Centre reported 20,357 people displaced and 125 evacuation centres open across eight Malaysian states, citing NADMA. Those are published disaster figures, not a claim about how many families World Aid Network has reached.

You donate. Trustees release funds to local partner organisations in Malaysia after assessing need. Partners buy food, water, hygiene supplies and shelter materials nearby and deliver them. We do not send cash to individuals.
Buying locally is faster, and it supports shops in the affected area. Timing depends on need, access, available funds and partner capacity; no response time is guaranteed.

Should I send clothes or food parcels from the UK?
Please donate money instead, unless a partner has asked for a specific item in writing. Parcels from Britain usually arrive late and cost more than buying locally. A card gift on this page is the fastest way to help.
Local partners know what a family needs that week. Please give so rice, drinking water and tarpaulins can be bought nearby.
How is this different from the Floods and Earthquake Appeal?
This page is marked for flood-affected families in Malaysia. The Floods and Earthquake Appeal is the standing three-country fund for Pakistan, Indonesia and Malaysia. Both buy food, water and shelter. Please donate to the page that matches how you want to help.
A gift here stays with flood relief in Malaysia. If you would rather let trustees send help wherever the need is greatest across the three countries, use the standing fund.
What happens if more is raised than is needed?
Trustees may direct surplus to other disaster-relief work in Pakistan, Indonesia or Malaysia, in line with our Objects — never kept as profit. This appeal does not rebuild homes and does not fund cancer treatment or eye surgery.

When do floods usually happen in Malaysia?
