How can I donate to an emergency appeal from the UK?

Please give on an appeal page by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. From the United Kingdom, that is the simplest way to help. You do not need to fill a shipping container. Local partners buy emergency food, drinking water, hygiene kits and shelter kits nearby. Partner hospitals deliver cancer treatment and cataract surgery.

  1. Step 1

    Choose an appeal

Open this page and pick the Humanitarian Appeal, Crisis Appeal, Disasters Emergency Relief, or the earthquake, tsunami, flood, hunger, water, cancer or Gift of Sight appeal that matches how you want to help.

  2. Step 2

    Give by card

Donate on the appeal page by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. You do not need to send parcels from Britain.

  3. Step 3

    Optional: give monthly

A monthly gift keeps kits and treatment funded between headlines.

  4. Step 4

    Share the appeal

Tell a workplace, mosque, church or friends. Gather gifts and donate them here.

Where does my donation go?

You donate. Trustees release funds to local partners and partner hospitals in Pakistan, Indonesia and Malaysia. Disaster gifts become a meal, a drink, a hygiene kit and a dry place to sleep. Treatment gifts become a scan, an operation or a chemotherapy cycle. We do not send cash to individuals.

Gift Aid starts when Charity Commission registration is granted. Disaster gifts fund food, water, hygiene kits and shelter — not reconstruction, cash grants or medical clinics. Please give if you want help to reach a family or a patient in Pakistan, Indonesia or Malaysia. Read how emergency relief works, or donate on a named appeal above.

Frequently asked questions

How can I donate to an emergency appeal from the UK?

Open an appeal on this page and give by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. That is the useful thing to do. Please do not send clothes, tins or bottled water from Britain unless a partner has asked in writing. Local partners buy food, water, hygiene kits and shelter materials nearby.

How can I help people after an earthquake, tsunami or flood?

Donate to the Humanitarian Appeal or Crisis Appeal for food, water, hygiene kits and shelter; Disasters Emergency Relief after any disaster; the Indonesia Earthquake and Tsunami Appeal for shocks there, including Flores on 15 August 2026; the Pakistan Floods Appeal for monsoon flooding in Pakistan; or the standing Floods and Earthquake Appeal for all three Object countries. Gifts become emergency food, clean water, hygiene kits and shelter — not reconstruction.

Do you run a first aid appeal?

No. First Aid on this site is a free written skills guide at /first-aid, not a fundraising appeal. The British Red Cross teaches first aid in the UK. Disaster gifts on this page are food, water, hygiene kits and shelter.

Is the Humanitarian Appeal the same as the Crisis Appeal?

Both fund emergency food, clean water, hygiene kits and shelter through local partners. The Humanitarian Appeal is the checkout for Humanitarian Appeal searches. The Crisis Appeal is the checkout for Crisis Appeal searches. The Hunger Crisis Appeal is food parcels only. Please donate on the page that matches how you found us.

Is the Pakistan Floods Appeal still open?

Yes. World Aid Network’s Pakistan Floods Appeal is a standing appeal. Donate here if you want local partners to deliver emergency food, clean water, hygiene kits and shelter in Pakistan. We do not rebuild homes, send cash to individuals, or run medical clinics from disaster gifts.

Why give to a standing disaster fund instead of waiting for a television appeal?

A standing fund is already with local partners, so distribution can start within 48–72 hours of a declared flood, earthquake or tsunami. You do not have to wait for a new campaign. Monthly gifts keep kits ready between headlines.

What will my donation provide?

On disaster appeals: emergency food, safe drinking water, hygiene kits and temporary shelter, including shelter kits and winter warmth where families are still displaced. On the Cancer Emergency Appeal: imaging, surgery or chemotherapy for any cancer type. On Gift of Sight: typically £200 for one cataract operation.

Where does my donation go?

Trustees release funds to local partners and partner hospitals in Pakistan, Indonesia and Malaysia. Disaster supplies are bought nearby. Treatment bills are paid to registered hospitals. We never send cash to individuals. Gift Aid starts when Charity Commission registration is granted.

Do disaster appeals fund medical care, cash or rebuilding?

No. Emergency relief Objects are food, clean water and temporary shelter. Hygiene kits sit with water because dirty water spreads disease. Cancer treatment and eye surgery are separate appeals. Reconstruction, livelihoods, cash grants and mobile health clinics are outside these disaster appeals.

Can I give monthly?

Yes. A monthly donation keeps earthquake, flood and treatment funds ready before the next headline. You can also give once on any appeal page.

Will Gift Aid apply?

Gift Aid starts when Charity Commission registration is granted (application 5290505). We will contact donors when that happens.

Which countries can you help?

Pakistan, Indonesia and Malaysia only — the countries in our charitable Objects. We cannot send disaster gifts to another country.

Why should I donate to an emergency appeal today?

Card donations are processed immediately. After a flood or quake, partners aim to start within 48 to 72 hours. Please give what you can now.
