Movember Prostate Cancer Appeal

Movember began in Melbourne in 2003, when friends grew moustaches to make prostate cancer easier to mention. The idea spread. Mo Bros and Mo Sistas now take part in more than twenty countries. In the UK, the official campaign runs at uk.movember.com. Money given there goes to the Movember Foundation and the partners it chooses — often research, awareness and mental-health programmes, including work with Prostate Cancer UK.

That work matters in Britain. A moustache can get a man to ask his GP about a PSA test. Five-year survival for prostate cancer in England is around 88%. About 8 in 10 UK men survive ten years or more (Cancer Research UK). The NHS treats without a bill at the door.

People search “Movember 2026 UK” as autumn starts. You do not have to wait until 1 November to give. Chemotherapy does not follow a fundraising calendar. A gift in August still funds a session. A gift in November still funds a session. Please give when you can.

Movember’s research and awareness work in high-income countries has helped men talk to a GP. It does not pay the oncologist in a hospital in Pakistan, Indonesia or Malaysia when a family is turned away for want of money. Please give on this page if that bill is what you want to meet.

The biology is not the gap. Access is the gap. There is no NHS at the door in the communities we fund. Specialist care sits in cities. Poor patients arrive late because they waited, hoping the cost would go away. Cancers in low-income settings are often found when they are harder to treat. On our cancer hub we cite WHO and Lancet Oncology figures of under 30% five-year survival for prostate cancer in many low-income settings without treatment access. Those are not World Aid Network caseloads. We do not invent numbers we cannot source.

World Aid Network funds treatment that a locally licensed doctor has already recommended, in a registered hospital in Pakistan, Indonesia or Malaysia. We do not run clinics. We do not employ oncologists. We pay the cost that stands between a patient and care. Please give to the Cancer Emergency Appeal on this page.

This is treatment access, not laboratory research and not UK NHS care. Clinicians in partner hospitals decide the medical plan. We fund the bill. What a patient receives depends on diagnosis, stage and what that hospital can deliver.

Please choose an amount and donate. The table is a guide, not a promise that every gift buys an identical item.

Care is delivered by clinicians registered with PMDC in Pakistan, KKI in Indonesia or MMC in Malaysia. World Aid Network funds the bill. We do not fly teams from Britain. Buying care locally means the money stays in the health system that already knows the patient.

November is when the conversation is loud. The invoice arrives in January too. A small monthly gift keeps treatment funded between campaigns. You can change it later.
