What is the Pakistan Floods Appeal?
This is WAN’s standing appeal for flood-affected families in Pakistan. The programme focuses on food, safe drinking water, hygiene supplies and temporary shelter.
The appeal’s purpose is emergency relief. It does not fund long-term reconstruction, eye surgery or cancer treatment. Those are separate programmes.
A country appeal is not a promise that a donation will reach a particular district, named household or dated disaster. Contact us before giving if a narrower restriction is important to you.
Which Pakistan flood figures are historical?
The widely quoted figure of 33 million people affected refers to Pakistan’s 2022 floods. UNICEF’s one-year review also reported more than 2.2 million homes damaged or destroyed. These are historical national figures, not a 2026 assessment or WAN’s beneficiary totals.
Disaster totals change as assessments develop. Keep the event year, source and reporting period together when sharing a statistic. Do not add reports from different years into one total.
For newer assessments, follow the dated Pakistan situation reports published by UNICEF and official local disaster guidance. Reports by other agencies do not establish WAN’s involvement in those responses.

Why are food, water, hygiene and shelter priorities?
Flooding can disrupt safe water, damage homes and make food harder to obtain. Different households need different combinations of immediate support.
UNICEF explains that damage to water and sanitation services can increase illness risks during emergencies. Relief planning therefore needs to consider safe water and hygiene together.
The source describes general humanitarian needs. It is not an endorsement of WAN or proof that WAN has delivered supplies in a particular location.

How can I donate to Pakistan flood relief from the UK?
Choose an amount in the donation form and keep the Pakistan Floods Appeal selected. Check the currency, frequency and recipient before completing payment.
One-off and monthly contributions are available. Payment options shown at checkout depend on your device and location.
Share the appeal link with a workplace, community group or friends so each donor can review the purpose and allocation terms. If you are organising a fundraiser, explain who receives the money before collecting it.
Choose an amount to give
- £25 Contributes towards locally sourced emergency food
- £50 Helps fund drinking water and hygiene essentials
- £100 Contributes towards food, water and other urgent supplies
- £200 Helps fund temporary shelter materials and emergency supplies
Every amount is a contribution to this appeal fund, not a fixed price for a treatment.
What will a donation to Pakistan flood relief fund?
Contributions help fund the appeal’s emergency relief purpose. No standard donation amount guarantees a fixed number of food parcels, water containers or shelter kits.
Costs depend on local quotes, transport, availability, assessed needs and access. We will only describe a specific quantity or delivery as completed when there is evidence for it.
Read where your money goes for cost and allocation information. A payment receipt acknowledges your gift; it is separate from a report of aid delivered.
How does WAN plan to reach affected communities?
Relief delivery is intended to take place through local partners, subject to needs assessment, capacity, access and trustee allocation.
The page does not establish that boats, aircraft or other specific delivery routes have been deployed by WAN. Partner identity, funded location, dates and delivery records should appear in approved updates when available.
Families should follow official local emergency instructions. This fundraising page is not a rescue service or a source of live evacuation advice.
What evidence should I look for before donating?
Check the organisation, programme purpose, allocation terms and reporting position. Separate evidence of a disaster from evidence of the charity’s own work.
WAN has not yet published reconciled appeal totals or approved delivery reports for this appeal. That means the figures are unavailable, not zero. The reporting panel and updates below show the current publication position.
- A named programme and clear geographical scope.
- Dated financial and partner delivery records when published.
- A distinction between money received, funds paid out and aid delivered.
- Consent for published patient or beneficiary photographs.
- A clear contact route for questions and corrections.
How quickly will my donation help?
Payment processing and relief delivery are separate steps. Delivery depends on needs, access, available funds and partner capacity; this appeal does not guarantee a response time.
Use dated appeal updates to understand what has been approved, paid for and reported as delivered. The date of a donation is not evidence that relief reached a household that day.
Can I give monthly to Pakistan flood relief?
Yes. Choose a monthly contribution if regular giving suits you, or make a one-off donation.
Recurring support helps fund the standing appeal. It does not mean supplies are already positioned for a future flood. Use the manage-giving service to manage an existing recurring gift.
How does this differ from the wider emergency appeal?
Pakistan flood relief is the primary purpose here. The standing Floods and Earthquake Appeal covers disaster relief across Pakistan, Indonesia and Malaysia.
Choose the appeal whose published purpose matches your intentions. The Hunger Crisis Appeal and Clean Water Emergency Appeal describe their own programme scopes; they should not be assumed to create a Pakistan-only restriction.
What happens if more is raised than this appeal needs?
Under the published appeal terms, trustees may allocate surplus to other disaster-relief work in Pakistan, Indonesia or Malaysia in line with WAN’s charitable Objects.
This means the page’s primary Pakistan focus is subject to that surplus policy. Contact WAN before making a gift if you need a stricter geographical or incident restriction. The appeal does not promise that every surplus pound remains in Pakistan.
Should I send clothes or supplies from abroad?
Check with the organisation before sending goods. Unrequested items can be difficult to transport, store or distribute appropriately.
A financial contribution lets the programme assess needs and available local supplies. Follow the fundraising guidance for group collections and contact WAN before arranging an in-kind donation.

How we will report on this appeal
We publish an appeal’s figures only after they are reconciled and checked. The first report will appear here with its reporting period, money received, payments to partners and what was delivered. A missing figure means it has not been published yet.
What are the sources for this guide?
Follow the original guidance for its evidence, dates and limitations. Background references explain the need; they are not evidence of WAN fundraising or delivery.
What are the latest appeal updates?
How we reportNo verified delivery updates published yet
Dated reports will appear here after review. Each published update will distinguish money received, payments to delivery partners and the care or relief reported. Photographs of people require permission to publish.
Ask about this appealFrequently asked questions
Is the Pakistan Floods Appeal open?
Yes. It is a standing appeal accepting donations towards food, safe water, hygiene and temporary shelter for flood-affected families.
Do the 33 million people affected figures describe this year?
No. The figure cited here describes the 2022 floods. Use a dated situation report for the period you are researching.
Does this page prove WAN reached 33 million people?
No. National disaster figures are not WAN beneficiary counts. Verified delivery reports have not yet been published for this appeal.
Is every donation restricted to Pakistan?
Pakistan flood relief is the primary purpose, but the published terms allow trustees to use surplus for disaster relief in Pakistan, Indonesia or Malaysia. Contact WAN before giving if you require a narrower restriction.
Can I donate monthly?
Yes. Select monthly giving in the form. You can also make a one-off contribution.
Can I claim Gift Aid?
Check the current eligibility and organisation information on the donation page. Do not assume a tax top-up applies automatically.
Does this fund reconstruction or medical treatment?
No. This appeal focuses on emergency food, water, hygiene and temporary shelter. Cancer care and eye surgery have separate appeals.
