What is the best charity for cancer?

There is no honest single ranking. The best charity for cancer is the one whose objects, countries and evidence match what you want the gift to do. World Aid Network does not publish a league table. If you want a gift that pays a hospital bill for a patient who cannot pay in Pakistan, Indonesia or Malaysia, please donate on this page.

Cancer charities do different jobs. Some fund laboratories. Some run UK helplines, hospices and advice. Some campaign for NHS services. Some pay for treatment that a family cannot afford overseas. Those are not the same gift. A ranked list that pretends they are would be marketing, not an answer.

If you searched for Cancer Research UK, Macmillan Cancer Support, Prostate Cancer UK or Breast Cancer Now by name, go to those organisations. They are not competitors we score. They do different work. If you searched “best charity for cancer” because you want treatment access now for a patient who cannot pay, World Aid Network’s first Object covers that. Please donate here.

Please do not wait for a table of stars. Check the register, match the mandate, then give.

Do you publish a ranked list of cancer charities?

No. World Aid Network does not rank the best charity for cancer and does not publish a top ten. CharityCompare publishes filing Clarity Scores from official accounts — not an impact ranking. The Charity Commission register is where you check a UK charity is real.

A Clarity Score is about how complete the filings are. It is not a verdict on whose cancer programme saves more lives. We will not invent one. Search https://www.gov.uk/find-charity-information. Search https://www.charitycompare.org.uk/ for registered charities that already have a number.

World Aid Network’s Charity Commission application is 5290505. No registered number has been issued yet, so we will not appear as a fully rated CharityCompare profile until that happens. That is a fact you should know before you give. You can still donate on this page.

How do I check a UK cancer charity is legitimate?

Search the Charity Commission register at https://www.gov.uk/find-charity-information. A registered charity has a number, named trustees and filed accounts. World Aid Network is a UK CIO; registration is in progress (application 5290505). How do I check a UK charity is legitimate? is the same test for any cause.

If a website will not name trustees, will not say which country the money is spent in, or will not say whether the gift is research, UK support or overseas treatment, pause. The registration status page explains our own application. ICO ZC156579.

Please donate here if you have done that check and the mandate still matches. Please give elsewhere if it does not.

What tests should I apply before I donate to a cancer charity?

Ask four questions. What does the gift actually buy? Which countries? Who delivers the care? What does a typical amount fund? What tests should I apply before I donate? is the same list on the best-charities guide. If the answers here match what you wanted, please donate.

World Aid Network funds cancer treatment — imaging, surgery and chemotherapy — for poor patients in Pakistan, Indonesia and Malaysia. Locally licensed oncologists treat in registered hospitals. We fund the bill. We do not run hospitals, do not employ oncologists, and do not fly teams from Britain.

The gift is treatment access, not a research grant and not NHS care. The Cancer Emergency Appeal funds all types of cancer. Typical partner costs: £50 for one chemotherapy session; £100 for a diagnostic scan; £500 for surgery where partners quote that cost. Those are typical costs, not a named-patient menu.

We do not claim a 100% donation policy. Read how we work and the 100% donation policy guide.

How is this different from the cancer charities guide?

This page answers “best charity for cancer” and lets you donate. The cancer charities guide explains the three types of cancer charity — research, UK patient support, and treatment access. Search engines treat those questions as different. We keep them on different URLs.

Stay here if you arrived looking for the best charity for cancer and you want a form. Use the cancer charities guide if you wanted a map of who funds labs versus helplines versus hospital bills. Use the Cancer Emergency Appeal if cancer treatment is the whole of the ask and you already knew you wanted to give to World Aid Network.

Is World Aid Network the best charity for cancer?

We will not say that. We will say what we do. Compare Is World Aid Network the best charity for cancer? with What tests should I apply before I donate to a cancer charity? If treatment overseas for patients who cannot pay is what you wanted, please donate here.

Is World Aid Network one of the best charities to donate to? is the same refusal on the best-charities guide. We will not write a sentence that ranks us above Cancer Research UK or Macmillan. Those organisations exist. Their objects are not ours. Ours are eye surgery and cancer treatment for poor patients, and food, water and shelter after disaster, in three countries.

Please give if you want that work funded. Please give to a research or UK-support charity if that is the gift you meant.

Should I donate to cancer research or cancer treatment?

Neither is objectively better. Research may help future patients. Treatment pays a bill for someone who is ill now and cannot pay. World Aid Network funds treatment, not laboratories. Please donate here if treatment access is the gift you want. Please give to a research charity if discovery is the gift you want.

In the UK, the NHS treats cancer without a bill at the door. In the communities we serve, a scan, a biopsy or a cycle of chemotherapy can be the reason a patient goes home untreated. That is the gap this page is for.

WHO estimates that most cancer deaths occur in low- and middle-income countries, where families often pay out of pocket. We do not invent a caseload from that fact. We fund partner hospitals when they have a verified patient who cannot pay.

If you wanted UK hospice care, a Macmillan nurse or a CRUK trial, those sit with those charities. If you wanted childhood cancer treatment overseas, the childhood cancer treatment page and the Cancer Emergency Appeal cover that — all types of cancer, including childhood cancer.

What will a donation to World Aid Network provide?

Your donation pays a partner hospital bill. £50 can cover one chemotherapy session. £100 can cover a diagnostic scan. £500 can help fund surgery where partners quote that cost. Figures are typical partner costs, not a menu you pick for a named patient.

Please choose an amount and donate. Cancer gifts fund all types of cancer — not research and not NHS care. Use the Cancer Emergency Appeal if you want the named year-round cancer checkout. Eye surgery gifts typically fund cataract operations at about £200 — Gift of Sight. Emergency gifts buy food, water and shelter. We do not send cash to individuals. We do not claim a 100% donation policy.

What a gift to this appeal typically funds
Gift What partners typically kit
£10 Essential cancer medicines for one patient for one week
£25 Diagnostic blood tests or a screening examination
£50 One chemotherapy session for a patient who cannot pay
£100 A diagnostic scan to confirm and stage cancer
£250 A course of chemotherapy drugs where partners quote this cost
£500 Cancer surgery for one patient at a partner hospital

What does your amount fund?

£50 — One chemotherapy session for a patient who cannot pay

How is this different from the Cancer Emergency Appeal?

This page answers “best charity for cancer” and lets you donate. The Cancer Emergency Appeal is the named year-round checkout for people who already want to fund cancer treatment overseas. Both can take a card gift. This URL is not listed on the emergency appeals index.

Search engines treat “best charity for cancer” and “donate to the Cancer Emergency Appeal” as different questions. We keep them on different URLs. Stay here if you are still choosing. Use the Cancer Emergency Appeal if cancer treatment is the whole of the ask. Use the year-round donate page if you only wanted a form.

Will Gift Aid apply if I donate here?

Gift Aid starts when Charity Commission registration is granted (application 5290505). You can donate now. We will contact donors when that happens. We will not tick a Gift Aid box that we cannot yet claim.

When registration is granted, a UK taxpayer’s eligible gift can add 25 pence in the pound at no extra cost to the donor. That is not live on this site today. The Gift Aid page is the status explainer.

Where does my donation go if I give here?

Gifts pay partner hospitals in Pakistan, Indonesia and Malaysia against trustee-approved lists. A cancer gift stays with cancer treatment. We do not send cash to individuals. Charity Commission registration is in progress. Please donate so that chain can start.

Unrestricted gifts can go where trustees see the most urgent list. Restricted cancer gifts stay with cancer. ICO ZC156579. How we work explains grants to partners.

Can I give monthly to a cancer charity?

Yes. A monthly donation matches a chemotherapy course better than a one-off drive. Please set up a regular gift on this page, or use the monthly giving page. You can change it later.

If you would rather give once, that gift is welcome too. Please donate today if the tests on this page matched what you wanted a “best charity for cancer” to be.
