A UK children’s charity is often a Charity Commission organisation whose objects are children first — child protection, education, or a named-child sponsorship product. We are not that. We do not run UK children’s services. We do not promise a photograph and a letter from one child.

Children still sit inside our work. A paediatric cataract is a cataract. Childhood leukaemia is cancer. A family sleeping under a tarpaulin after the Flores earthquake includes children. Those gifts are real. The label “children’s charity” is not our constitution. Charity for humanity is the honest answer to faith labels. This page is the honest answer to the donation search.

Cataract is not only an older person’s disease. Childhood cataract is a leading treatable cause of childhood blindness. A cloudy lens that is left in a young eye can steal the years when the brain learns to see. We do not invent how many paediatric operations we have funded. We fund what a licensed ophthalmologist in Pakistan, Indonesia or Malaysia has recommended, when the family cannot pay.

A child with cancer in a high-income country has around an 80% chance of survival with funded treatment. For a poor family without funded care, that figure often falls below 20%. Those are published survival gaps, not World Aid Network caseloads. Specialist children’s protocols exist in partner hospitals. The barrier is paying for them.

Acute lymphoblastic leukaemia is the most common childhood blood cancer. Continuity matters: stopping mid-course because a family cannot pay is more dangerous than a delayed start. We do not fund UK paediatric research hospitals. We do not run clinical trials. Locally licensed oncologists treat the patient. We pay the hospital.

After a quake or a flood, a child needs a drink, a meal and a dry place to sleep. That is the whole of a disaster gift here. Emergency relief does not fund medical clinics from disaster money. Eye surgery and cancer treatment are separate causes. Please pick the cause that matches what you want the gift to do.
